She sits awkwardly on the bench and tries to smile. Her military history has become an oddity; once she recounted her achievements like a grocery list, and now it is simply uncomfortable to think of how many people and places she unquestioningly destroyed.
"It was only in the last two years that I actually commanded forces on the offense," she says quietly. "Most knew not to attack the empire, but I did have to make an example of a city called Maranda. They were attempting to incite rebellion. It was not much of a battle; their rebels were ill-trained and--" Is Sei combing her hair? That's...strange, but it feels very nice. She tries to remember what she was saying. "They hadn't much knowledge of tactics." She hesitates. "It is one thing to fight an army, and another to be told to raze the village entirely. At the time, the order seemed logical. Now it seems unfair."
